Live review (not really): Adele @ Billboard Café
June 17, 2008 Leave a Comment

One of the cool things about my internship is that we have random artists come in at least once a week to perform a couple of songs in our cafeteria (Billboard Café). They get filmed and then posted on the Web site with an interview and what not. Usually it’s pretty random people who come in, but we’ve had some interesting ones (interpret that how however you’d like), like Delta Goodrem (Australia’s top-selling female artist, who is super talented), Brianna Taylor from the current season of The Real World, and the new Menudo (there was an MTV show to form a new version of Latino boy band Menudo).
However, yesterday’s performance is the first one I was really excited about seeing, which was Adele, whose album 19 just came out in the U.S. last week. She’s 20 years old, British, has a phenomenal voice, and seems to be totally blowing up. She performed two songs, “Right As Rain” and “Chasing Pavements” and even though the performance was at 11:30 a.m. and she said she was worn out, she sounded awesome.

For some reason I can’t figure out how to get video in here, but the Billboard video of “Right As Rain” is here and “Chasing Pavements” + interview is here.
