Somehow I have recently become an album-reviewing machine, which is funny because I used to totally hate writing them. Still not my favorite, but I need to get better and feel more confident at it, so I am forcing myself to do more and so far it’s working! Below are a couple of reviews I wrote for the East Village Radio blog, and I’ll have more published there and in Billboard in the next few weeks.

I know, I know, I’m horrible at getting these up in time. (Dear potential employers: I promise I meet all my deadlines!)
Anyway, I went to see Blitzen Trapper and Alela Diane in Detroit on Feb. 20 and it was AMAZING. Alela Diane was awesome (loved the Fleetwood Mac cover, and loved that her dad was in her band), and Blitzen Trapper played for I think more than an hour and a half, which is a nice change from most bands who just play for an hour and call it a night.
Love, love, loved it.
Don’t have a setlist, but I was excited to hear “Wild Mountain Nation” and not so excited to hear “Love U” (I promise that’s the only song from Furr that I don’t like …)
